Some years ago I put together a book that became the tool that guided people into truth and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I desired to make something to be used in follow-up that could be as effective as the Four Spiritual Laws booklet was in conversions. All anyone would have to do would be to read the booklet and look up the verses and all would benefit. I wanted to make it easy to follow and interesting enough to hold interest yet comprehensive in content, therefore, moving a person from the milk of the Word to the meat of the Word. I have used this method of the follow-up booklet for many years with Christians and non-Christians, and witnessed many lives changed.

The book was named “How Shall I Know Unless Someone Guides Me?” This present book attempts to improve upon the older book. Bible studies can be a fun, enjoyable and effective opportunities for Christians to do something pleasing to God and to get to know God at the same time. Watching and helping someone start a new life is a blessing. Watching and helping Christians grow in their understanding and knowledge of the Scriptures and God is also a blessing. The following is a method for developing home Bible studies. If you would like to create a home Bible study group, you might try the following:

1. Ask a neighbor, friend, fellow student, coworker or a member of your family if they can spare an hour a week for the next six to eight weeks.
2. Tell them something like, “I would like to share with you what Christians believe and why they believe it.”
3. Set the time. Once you get to the meeting place, sit at a table and open your Bible to the Table of Contents. Explain how the Table of Contents will be helpful in looking up verses during the study time.
4. Simply read each pre-planned study in this book and comment as you continue to look up verses in the Bible.
5. Remember to review the last study from the week before.
6. Ask questions like, “What does this verse say?” and “What do you think it meant to those to whom it was written?” Speak slowly and clearly. Do not read too fast.
7. Try to have them look up most of the Scriptures so they will spend more time in the Bible.
8. Following my outline is not essential. Make your own, start where you want and end where you want.

Furthermore, consider the following tips because conducting a home Bible study takes perseverance, time and personal commitment:

1. Be enthusiastic, honest, open to their opinions and listen to what they are discovering (even if you already know it).
2. When asked a question to which you do not know the answer, do not panic. Take a deep breath, smile and say, “That is a good question, but I don’t know the answer.” Do not give an answer just to give an answer. Tell them you will try to find the answer for them and then do it.
3. Don’t tell them all you know. Let them discover truth for themselves.
You provide the tools but let them find the jewels!
4. Don’t get discouraged over no-shows.
5. Give of yourself, enjoy yourself and be yourself.

Home Bible Studies have a two fold purpose:
1.) Building of disciples (follow-up), helping others to learn God’s word and live victorious productive Christian lives.
2.) Continually strengthening your understanding of God’s Word, as the Holy Spirit continues to reveal deeper truths to you.

As you show them your watch say:

No one seriously would claim that a watch came together of itself without a human builder. Yet many illogically claim that the universe, infinitely more complex, came into being without a Creator.

It makes good sense to believe in God.
You may want to point out some examples:

1) The earth is just the right distance from the sun, any closer we would burn up, any farther away we would freeze.

2) The earth is kept in orbit by the sun.
Both are just the right size and both are in just
the right place.

3) The earth is just the right size to hold the right

4) What is unique about the surface area of the earth is that over 70 percent of it is covered with water. They say the earth started out with a surface that was a hot mass of molten fire and flames, just like the sun and the moon. Where did all the water come from?

5) The earth must have just the right rotations.

6) The tilt has to be just right to cause the seasons.

7) On and on it goes.

Man thought the world was flat
up until about 400 years ago!

Roughly 2200 years before man
proved the world was round,
Isaiah, the prophet, had this to say:

Isaiah 40:22
“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:” KJV

What’s the mathematical probability of Isaiah being right about the earth being a circle 2200 years before it was proven?

The mathematical odds multiply with each additional case.
This continues to amaze all minds that seriously consider the implications of this.

Another Example:

Isaiah 59:21
“And as for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.”

I point out that the book of Isaiah was written about seven hundred years before Jesus and we have today an actual copy of the complete book of Isaiah that was found in the Dead Sea scrolls that is dated within a few hundred years from the time of the original.

That is about two thousand seven hundred years ago. Then I asked if they know of an author in our day that has written a book that will be massively studied twenty seven hundred years into our future.

Usually the answer is no. I then say, but it is possible, isn’t it? They agree, possible but not probable. I then ask what they think the odds would be of some author in our day writing a book that would be read by many people twenty seven hundred years into the future. They say, “Off the charts.”

Then I ask what the odds would be if the author within the text of his book were to claim, as Isaiah recorded, that his book would be read and massively studied by people twenty seven hundred years into the future and then it actually happened? What are the odds?

That question has a profound effect. It is one thing for something like that to happen but its an altogether different thing when told in advance it will happen and it actually happens, just as we have observed in the book of Isaiah.

The point is well made by Isaiah 59:21 and Isaiah 40:22 and many more prophecies, which makes the Bible the most unique and incredible book of all times.

Truth is more powerful than error. For most people that are in opposition to Christianity, they are ignorant of the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, willingly ignorant.

Truth will always surface to the top if one is honest, humble and submissive. Arrogance, pride and a desire to keep sinning makes it impossible to ever know God’s truth.
